On Wednesday, July 28th at 10:30 a.m. Central Time, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute is hosting a free webinar that will be open to all students interested in pursuing a career in journalism. The webinar is titled: “Basics of Journalism.” The event will last 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Students will “[l]earn the basics of writing and reporting from experienced journalists on faculty at Hillsdale College, The Kings’ College, and Patrick Henry College.”
The first lecture, “Story Types and Structure,” will be taught by Paul Glader at 10:30 a.m. The second lecture, “Copy Editing and Common Mistakes,” will be taught by Clemente Lisi at 11:30 a.m. After a 30-minute break, the third lecture, “Finding Sources and Basic Ethics,” will be taught by Les Sillars at 1:00 p.m. The final lecture, “Interview Basics,” will be taught by John Miller at 2:00 p.m.
