SELMA, TX — On December 21st, Dr. Tim Westley announced his campaign for Texas Land Commissioner, according to a press release provided to The Texas Horn. Dr. Westley, who currently serves as the historian for the Texas GOP, is a two-time congressional candidate and the author of several books on the role of African Americans within the Republican Party.
In his press release, Dr. Westley stated that his “knowledge and experience with border security, Veterans’ issues, public education enhancement, protection of monuments and history, and the Alamo’s defense, joined with his success with Party leadership and broad interactions with Texans throughout the state, combine as ideal preparation for his bid to become the next Texas Land Commissioner.”
Dr. Westley joins Ben Armenta, Victor Avila, Dawn Buckingham, Rufus Lopez, Weston Martinez, Don Minton, and Jon Spiers in the Republican primary race for land commissioner, held on March 1st.
