This October, cultural committees under Campus Events + Entertainment organized their annual cultural event at the Student Activity Center.
“The event-planning committees aim to expose students to different cultures across campus,” said Radhika Kannan, chair of the Asian American Culture committee.
The event hosted music, food, games and organizations representing Asian American, Latin American, and African American cultures. The evening concluded with a lesson from Texas Latin Dance.
“Meeting other people from diverse backgrounds is the best way to learn from culture,” said Roman Garza, a student attendee studying Human Development and Family Sciences.
“Even if you meet one person here, they can teach you a lot from something you might have never known,” said Garza.
