John Karl Fetterman, born on August 15, 1969, is a member of the Democratic Party and has served as the junior United States senator from Pennsylvania (PA) since 2023. Prior to this, he was mayor of Braddock, PA from 2006 to 2019 and served as the 34th lieutenant governor of PA from 2019 to 2023. One of his most infamous qualities as a senator is his ability to move the masses with his inspiring words, which makes you wonder how he got elected in the first place.
Here is a list of some quotes that showcases the Senator’s oratory prowess.
#10. “I said you could sue a ham sandwich. It’s not going to change anything. Well, you can audit a ham sandwich, and it’s not going to change anything.”
John Fetterman amazed everyone across the nation when, on NPR’s Morning Edition, he told us how we could, in fact, sue a ham sandwich. In his defense, he was discussing the Trump campaign’s attempts to sue and audit state elections. However, maybe he is talking about suing a ham sandwich.
#9. “I do support fracking and…I don’t, I don’t…I do support fracking.”
On the debate stage with Dr. Oz, Fetterman found himself confused on whether or not he supports fracking. He has provided many answers to the question and has a history of saying he is against fracking. He even signed a pledge to end fracking. At this moment, he might support fracking, but I doubt that he even knows.
#8. “I am not pro-fracking and have stated that if we did things right in this state, we wouldn’t have fracking. The industry is a stain on our state and natural resources.”
Does this settle the debate on whether or not he supports fracking? Because in the previous quote he says he does. At least now he is coherent and able to say how he really feels.
#7. “My name is John Fetterwoman.”
I have to admit, it’s a fair campaign strategy to gain women’s support. This was intentional, as he was selling a shirt that says “Fetterwoman.” Without context, you probably would have thought he was becoming transgender, but I must raise the question, what is a woman?
#6. “Oh my God, really? You know, it’s devastating. Ooooohhhh. Don’t do it!”
A new favorite quote going across the internet is Fetterman’s response to a reporter’s inquiry on the impeachment inquiry into President Biden. In the video that captures this quote, one of Fetterman’s handlers is seen pulling him away from answering questions. Then again, maybe he was practicing a spooky voice for Halloween.
#5. “Goodnight, everybody.”
It’s a bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it pays off for Fetterman to start the debate off with goodnight. Not the best thing to say during the first question of the debate against Dr. Oz, but Fetterman did win in the end. Though, you almost expected him to just walk off the stage.
#4. “I’m doing fan- im doing fantastic and and uhh it’s not about kicking balls in the authority or anything.”
John Fetterman chooses violence after being asked how he is doing at the start of an MSNBC interview. It’s equally funny and concerning on how he is ready to talk trash, but hasn’t he always been the authority? He was the mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania for 13 years.
#3. “The Eagles Are So Much Better Than The Eagles!”
Those who know me know I’m not the biggest football fan, however, I don’t think I need to be a fan to realize something is wrong here. In this quote, Fetterman was confusing the Eagles and Steelers.
#2. “No I, I would just um really like to you know the 95, 95. 95 you know uh you know obviously that you know you’re pretty much preoccupied with 95 and I know I certainly am too.”
This quote starts 20 seconds into the video, where they are discussing the I-95 Highway Collapse in the Senate Hearing. However, with context, it is still confusing about what his train of thought is, and you can tell he doesn’t know what to say. If you continue to watch the clip, it doesn’t get any better.
#1. “I’m not afraid of anything, and certainly not the NRA, and let me be clear, the NRA does not represent the overwhelming majority of what gun owners really believe and want.”
This is probably the most based thing he has said without context. Fetterman is a gun owner, however, he is very much for restricting the second amendment and infringing on the right to bear arms. He also called the NRA a “lunatic fringe of gun ownership.”
